Brushtail Possum Juvenilles love their food in my care in Sydney

Cuteness overload watching these three possums in my care enjoying their food. Nugget (golden brown girl), Joey and OJay. Nugget and Joey were shared with me by another carer that raised them. I received a very sick OJay brushtail boy when he weighed 100gram only. I had many sleepless nights with three hourly feeds until I stabilised him with the assistance of a very experienced carer who shared advice guiding me with the best way to save his life. As you can see in the video, O-Jay has grown into a fine boy.

They come out just before sunset to munch away on all the fresh food. They certainly have grown up into very healthy possums and I am missing them. These three were released in January 2022. I am taking a 6-month break from volunteering for Sydney Metropolitan Wildlife Rescue. I have been volunteering for 13 years now and have given a second chance at life to around two thousand sentient beings that have been in my care.

Fascinated with how OJay came it at 100 grams and has grown so well. His instincts have kicked in early to grab his food and then hide in small spaces to feel safer while munching away. He will do great out in the bush. Each and every little soul is so special and dear. Thank you to all who have joined my meditation courses over the years, as the money has been used to buy food, medicine and cages. You have helped me to be able to care for all the amazing wildlife shared with me over the years.
